The ancient tapestry of Aethelgard was irrevocably torn on a day that shall forever live in infamy. Our world, known for its deep-rooted mysteries and quiet, enduring existence, was shaken to its very core. Without so much as a whisper of forewarning, the earth itself roared, tearing open vast cracks in the ground that swallowed the unwary, while colossal landslides buried villages and exposed long-hidden ancient ruins to the harsh light of a new, terrifying dawn. As if drawn by this calamitous symphony, strange and fearsome monsters began to appear, clawing their way from the depths and shadows.
It was amidst this unprecedented chaos that they arrived. The Immortals.
Their appearance was sudden, dramatic, and tied directly to the very heart of the cataclysm. They materialized above a dormant volcano, a mountain that had slumbered for ages. Roused by the earth’s violent convulsions, it awoke with a thunderous roar, sending fresh lava flows cascading down its slopes, threatening to consume nearby forests and a small village nestled at its base.
The Immortals, disoriented yet quick to grasp the immediate peril, moved with a speed and power that defied mortal understanding. Their actions left no doubt: the destruction in the immediate vicinity was fresh, born of the very moment of their inexplicable arrival. One among them, whom the villagers later identified as Oldmanbrad1985, demonstrated incredible dominion over the very elements. He moved decisively to stifle the relentless flow of lava and quickly secure the threatened village from complete annihilation. His actions were nothing short of miraculous.
From the gratitude of the villagers, who were reeling from this sudden, terrifying devastation, came simple offers of salvaged equipment. And it was thus that the Immortal known as Anewabyss, companion to Oldmanbrad1985, immediately put these humble tools to use, vanishing into the chaos to scout this bewildering new world. Anewabyss departed just before the equally abrupt arrival of another Immortal, Travisgene, who, like Oldmanbrad1985, instantly plunged into the unfolding crisis.
