Welcome to Vordenth: The City Beneath the Stone

Once, Vordenth stood beneath an open sky, a thriving trade hub where merchants, travelers, and riverfolk gathered. That was before the Deepbinding—the cataclysmic event that tore the city from its place in the world and cast it deep into the Earth Plane, sealing it within an immense cavern of stone and shadow.

Now, two generations later, the people of Vordenth endure.

At the heart of the city stands the Dawnshard, a massive crystal of golden light that provides warmth and illumination in the eternal dark. It was formed by the sacrifice of Saint Marian of the Dawn, a cleric of light whose spirit still watches over the city. Under its glow, life continues—markets hum with trade, forges ring with steel, and the people of Vordenth carve out their survival in a world that offers no mercy.

But survival is never certain.

The city’s water supply is dwindling, and space is running out as the next generation comes of age. Beyond Vordenth’s walls, unexplored tunnels lead into the depths, where ancient ruins, strange creatures, and unknown dangers await. Few who venture into these passages return, and those who do tell of whispers in the stone, lost cities buried in time, and horrors best left undisturbed.

To push back against the unknown, the city relies on the Delvers’ Guild—adventurers, scouts, and explorers who brave the depths to map uncharted caverns, recover lost resources, and defend Vordenth from the threats that lurk beyond its borders. Some return with treasures and stories; others are never seen again.
